Sally & Tom – A Touch Of Cricket

Sally & Tom were married at the end of October last year on beautiful autumnal day.  The couple were keen to include a tasteful nod to Tom’s sport, cricket.  Tom has been a keen cricket player since he was just 8 years old and Sally’s Dad was also a successful cricketer.  It was important for them to acknowledge this interest in their special day.

They chose our solid milk chocolate cricket bats which were printed with a swing tag to match their colour scheme.  The main part of the tag was printed in a turquoise blue and they chose a romantic white font for their names and wedding date.  Sally then hand wrote heart tags with her guests’ names in order to personalise them as an individual favour for everyone.

We have some other lovely handmade items in our cricket range too including miniature crickets bats in three different sizes, cricket centrepieces and mini cricket stumps which are perfect for table number displays and can be beautifully adorned with flowers to make them look even more special.

Our engraved traditional leather cricket balls are one of our bestsellers as they make a wonderful best man or usher gift, the cricket ball and cricket bat key rings are popular too.

Personalised Wedding Gifts

Personalised Wedding Gifts

Not only do we pride ourselves in our personalised wedding gifts.  We like to think that we offer something unique to our customers and what could be more suitable for the sports enthusiast in your wedding party than a personalised one-off rugby ball or football?

We are thrilled to be able to make these bespoke balls to order.  The design is created using the first name and surname of your recipient provided by you, as well as a Pantone colour of your choice.  Baby blue is popular, but the hot off the catwalk colour for 2018 weddings is Ultra Violet or it’s full title Pantone 18-3838 Ultra Violet!

PANTONE Color InstituteYou can also incorporate the date of your wedding if you wanted to.

The football is smooth PVC and full size (5).  It incorporates the text you have chosen as well as block colour panels in your colour choice.  All the balls we print are white, so the contrast colour is always this.

The rugby ball has a similar design with the initials also featuring on two panels.  This version is available in smooth PVC or pimple grain.

These items are custom made to order.  If there is a design idea which you have in mind please contact us to discuss your requirements.  We’re sure we can create something bespoke which will be perfect for you.

Are you considering a blush pink and gold colour scheme?

Pink and gold are a popular colour scheme choice for summer 2017 weddings.  Pale pink and white have always been an popular choice for both dresses, flowers and decorations.  The twist on this colour combination is the addition of the metallic, luxe gold.  The added element of a geometric pattern also creates a more modern look.

Little Wedding Ideas has a complimentary range of pink and gold products for your wedding.  If you just wanted a subtle nod to this trend you could use something like the ‘Just Married’ bunting in rose gold, or the personalised mini chocolates which include a blush colour palette.  Alternatively, you adopt this colour scheme throughout your day with our full range of Geo-Blush products.

Our full range of items include rose gold ‘hello’ and ‘love’ balloons with script text, treat bags, save the date cards, invitations and evening invitations, table confetti, guest book, cake boxes and name cards.

How to make your own tuck shop style sweet suitcase

This week we have created a tutorial on how to put together this sweet ‘sweet suitcase’ for your wedding reception. We have included instructions on how to make the easiest bunting in the world EVER.

What you will need:

  • Suitcase – we have a selection here, or you could use a lovely vintage find.
  • Fabric – charm squares work perfectly
  • Bias binding
  • Needle and thread or a sewing machine
  • Iron
  • ‘sweets’ lettering either in cotton, felt, iron on letters, or iron on vinyl.
  • A selection of dishes and jars
  • Sweets
  • Sweet bags, labels and tongs

How to put it all together:

  1. Cut out 6 x squares of your chosen fabric ( approximately 15cm x 15cm)
  2. Fold each square  corner to corner to create a triangle.  Machine or hand stitch along one length.  Trim corners and excess.  Repeat for all six squares.  Turn inside out and trim across the top to create a triangular bunting pendant.  See images.
  3. Measure the width of the suitcase and cut a length of bias binding 15-20 cm longer than the width of the suitcase.  Fold the bias binding in half and iron a crease along it’s length.
  4. Place or pin each bunting pendant in the fold of the bias binding and sew into position.  See images.
  5. Cut out and glue or iron on ‘sweets’ lettering across the pendants.
  6. Attach the finished bunting to the suitcase.
  7. Place a range of dishes, jar and stands in the suitcase.
  8. Add the sweet bags, labels and tongs.
  9. Add your favourite sweets and there you go, your very own handmade sweet suitcase.

We would love to see your creations, email us with your finished cases or tweet us @lilweddingideas

Sam & Primrose’s beautiful country wedding

Sam and Primrose’s beautiful day was filled with lots of personal touches and handmade features. We are thrilled to be able to share this day with you.  Primrose, the Bride, looked ethereal in her Amelie gown by Love Marley and the look complimented by her choice of blooms and children’s outfits.  The childern were dressed in crisp white cotton dresses and white shirts with blue shorts with coordinating shoes and boots.

Her sisters helped her to get ready with makeup and a bespoke floral crown and the family dogs joined the bridesmaids and page boys for the photo shoot before the ceremony!

The service was held at the local church and Primrose arrived in an old fiat complete with personalised sun strip.  Following the service, the party moved on to the reception which was signposted with hand painted signage featuring a monogram of the couple’s initials.

The venue for the wedding breakfast and party was a real blank canvas for Primrose to illustrate her creative side. The table plan and table centrepieces were influenced by the couple’s love of dogs.  This included a handmade table plan made from a pallet and table centrepieces featuring vintage dog figurines.  We were particularly taken with the tepee style venue with it’s roaring indoor fire, bunting and use of string lights. There was a homemade wedding cake, homemade marshmallow wedding favours and hand named bags for the children.  We can safely say this was one wonderful, personal handmade wedding with some unique touches.
