Sally & Tom – A Touch Of Cricket

Sally & Tom were married at the end of October last year on beautiful autumnal day.  The couple were keen to include a tasteful nod to Tom’s sport, cricket.  Tom has been a keen cricket player since he was just 8 years old and Sally’s Dad was also a successful cricketer.  It was important for them to acknowledge this interest in their special day.

They chose our solid milk chocolate cricket bats which were printed with a swing tag to match their colour scheme.  The main part of the tag was printed in a turquoise blue and they chose a romantic white font for their names and wedding date.  Sally then hand wrote heart tags with her guests’ names in order to personalise them as an individual favour for everyone.

How to incorporate a stylish cricket theme into your wedding day

Long before we started Little Wedding Ideas my Husband would get enquiries through his business for cricket items for weddings.  We found this somewhat unusual and a far cry from the traditional sugared almond as a wedding favour.  However, over the last 5 years, the humble mini cricket bat has become our best friend and definitely our best seller.  We’ve engraved them, tied ribbons around them, made table plan ideas out of them, had little people play mini cricket games at weddings with them.  You name it!  We’ve added to our range too.  We stock three sizes of mini cricket bat, 6″ (15cm), 12″ (30cm) and 17″ (43cm).  We also have full size leather cricket balls, mini cricket balls, cricket ball key rings and have recently added a mini wooden cricket stump which also makes a wonderful centrepiece.

Our other popular cricket item is the engraved cricket ball.  This is because it makes such a wonderful memento for the Best Man, Father of the Bride, Bridesmaids or Page Boys.  We can engrave approximately 4 lines of personalised text and make it a really special gift for someone.

Our other more recent addition has been created by the very clever guys at Hadleigh Maid who have made us some very delicious chocolate cricket bats and balls.  These are available with a full colour printed tag with your names and wedding date on if you wish.
